On Tuesday, Facebook announced that it is planning to turn Instagram Stories into the next big ad platform. Today, the company revealed various updates that will help different brands and businesses in advertising on the major platform. It will include new uploading tools that will allow marketers to reuse their Instagram Stories as paid ads.
Facebook’s Canvas ad format can help the businesses on the Instagram Stories. They can easily run various ads on Facebook and Instagram.
According to the company, Instagram Stories are growing with around 250 million daily active users and more than 50% of businesses are creating stories on Instagram. Therefore, these tools will help the businesses to connect with newer users via existing content.
The tools will also provide flexibility to advertisers in creating and buying the Instagram Stories. For example, using Canvas ads, advertisers can create fast-loading full-screen ads. And using Power Editor and Ads Manager tools, small businesses with limited resources can repurpose their Instagram Stories and use them as ads.
The new updates are interesting for those businesses that depend on Instagram for their marketing purpose.
There is an option for brands which will allow them to automatically add the Instagram Stories to their Instagram, Facebook and Audience Network campaigns. Facebook is trying to make Instagram Stories an important part of the platform for advertisers’ media mix.
Apart from this, Instagram is also allowing users directly share their favourite stories with their friends. You can share Stories from today, directly by tapping the icon in the bottom right corner, choosing a friend to share it with and tapping on send.
